The current implementation of volume boost is actually quite dangerous from a sound design standpoint, it could dance people's speakers requiring repair, not to mention run audio quality when a loud podcast gets overdriven.

Is there a way to use compression with Android SDK?

I'm doing some testing to check if I can implement this audio efect. However in order to test this I would need some sample files whith different audio levels between them or even within. Can you please send me an email with either link to some episodes (Settings/Feedback/Send email)?

    Thanks

The current volume boost causes distortion which is dangerous for speakers and ears. It really needs to be switched to a compressor instead of a gain boost.
