Allow for full automatic backups to cloud storage at regular intervals
Thanks to Google's backup systems, if my phone someday decides to go for a swim or the like, I know I will be able to recover almost all my data up to the crash. This app is the one major exception. In order to fix this, the backup system needs three improvements:
1.) The option to automatically back up my full data, rather than just the OPML file.
2.) The option to use cloud storage as a backup location, rather than just the device.
3.) The option to set an automatic backup at a regular interval, rather than only when the subscriptions change.
Thanks for all the work you do on the app, Xavier!
This feature has now been released on the Play Store

This feature is very important to me.
not so long ago I lost my phone and one of the pain factors I had was not having the information on which episodes I already consumed. -

Came here to vote on this too! After a phone change gone bad, I've recently lost about 5 years worth of listen history in Podcast Addict. Sure wishing I could have scheduled, or even just manual, full backups that go to the cloud. The local backup did me no good in the unfortunate set of circumstances that arose.

Fully support the automatic backup to a cloud service (Drive, Dropbox, Onedrive). It saves a lot of issues in case the device is lost or broken.
Thanks for the good app!!!

I wouldn't want to backup the actual downloaded episode files, but everything else would be great. Maybe as part of this that when a backup file is restored PA looks for which podcasts had episodes downloaded and offer to re-download them again.

I recently changed my SD card, and implemented the Android option to use it as internal storage rather than external, which I had been doing previously. The process of re-connecting Podcast Addict to its files was a complete nightmare, and it hasn't worked properly - PA is not accurately recognising whci podcasts have been downloaded and which haven't, and keeps trying to stream podcasts that it should have downloaded.
A full backup option, including files, would have avoided this problem.

I just had my phone reset and the manufacturer's backup failed to restore data from the SD card. Lost most of the information but everything that Google backup captured was successfully restored.

Please include this! I bought the donation app because your app is wonderful. Please consider this :)

My phones tend to die of me with no warning, so an automatic backup on a cloud would be great!

I would love this. In addition to not backing up the actual podcasts when this happens, but I would like to choose how often. Once a day/week/month?

please prioritize this. I lost all my episode ratings and episodes read when i accidentally did a factory reset! It would be great if ALL episodes that have been: listened too, subscriptions, favorites and ratings are moved to a cloud service. Who cares about downloaded episodes - you can always re-download ... this should keep the backup file pretty small.

Oui, ce serait une évolution extra ; surtout la possibilité d'écouter un podcast virtuel avec des fichiers stockés sur le cloud.

I know you can share the backup file and automatically backup whenever subscriptions change, so we're SO CLOSE to this.

When I got a new phone this was the only important app that didn't sync across. I had tried to follow your instructions to use the backup file but the app couldn't find it and I gave up. This is a wonderful app and I love most things about it but this was annoying. I would like to know my podcasts and settings are backed up ready to restore easily. Thanks for this amazing app. - Tinker

@Anonymous you can use the app built-in backup/restore feature when changing device for this. Feel free to send me an email if you have any question (Settings/Feedback)

+1 I'm not fussed about re-downloading the media, but if my subs/listened/progress were backed up automatically that would be great.
