Allow in-app donations to podcast producers
Allow users to donate to podcasts from the mobile app. This can probably only happen on Android as Apple is strict about in-app payments. Maybe use Google Wallet, Paypal, or Flattr. If you build the functionality, podcast producers could provide you the payment information.

Add a podcast discovery service, listing popular & top rated podcasts in categories/types - Science, News, Sport, Comedy etc.
As a big fan of the app, I would really like to see a podcast discovery service. I don't just mean in the way of recommendations (though that may help some), but the classification of Podcasts into different categories and listing popular, 'Top rated' podcasts in different categories/types - Comedy, News, Science, Arts, Music, Sports, Entertainment etc.

Play 'First in playlist', not 'Next in playlist'
Imagine that you have your playlist sorted by date, and you want to always play the most recent playlist. In this case, then when the current podcast has finished, it should not play the next in the playlist, but instead play the one at the top of the playlist.
There should be an option to specify this.
44 votesThis is available in the latest v2.19 version. Enable this setting in Settings/Playlist

Add option to wrap playlist when last item finishes playing
Some times I want to listen to the last item on the playlist without re-sorting it. Currently the playback will stop once the last item is finished, even if there are elements left on the playlist.
When finishing the last item, it would be useful if playback could resume from the first element, thus wrapping around.
18 votesThis is available in the latest v2.19 version (you have to enable the repeat mode in the player screen)
-
add a long press download option on the playlist screen

group podcasts so when you refresh you don't wait several minutes
I'd like to group my podcasts and refresh them based on that particular group alone. e.g. I listed to comedy, news, and coffee podcasts. when I hit refresh it takes several minutes since it refreshes all of them. if I only want to update my comedy podcasts I still end up waiting quite a while.

add the ability to hide non-audio items, like blog posts. all i want is audio, and most of what i get is blog posts.
It would be nice if the feeds were separated but many podcasters (even professional ones) seems to mix everything up in one feed.

Ban that light blue background showing a counter of the unread episodes.
It renders the counter with it's white numbers on it barely readable.
Instead you could even save a whole line by combining the counter
for all available episodes of a podcast with that "unread counter".
e.g. if there are 20 episodes available and 10 of them are unread it
could display as 10(20) at the positon where it shows the counter
with that blue background right now. You would save the line above
where it now says "20 episodes". Thank you, I like PA!6 votesAvailable in v2.13

Add favorite podcasts feature to force selected podcasts to the top of the playlist
note - this is different than existing favorite episodes feature
I want to list to my podcasts in this order:
1-MobileTechRoundup (~60 minutes, updates roughly weekly)
2-NPR News (~5 minutes, updates hourly)
3-WSJ Tech Briefing (~5min, updates twice a day)
4-bunch of other short podcasts
5-bunch of other long podcastsUsing the available sort options doesn't allow me to listen in this order (I have been using stitcher which does let you do this). I think having a favorites flag will allow me to use the sort by duration with the exception of playing my selected favorites first.
35 votesI will add a priority setting for every podcast. It will be available by long pressing the podcast and selecting ‘Custom settings’.
Once the priorities are set, you will be able to sort the podcast list (main screen) and/or the playlist by priorities.Edit: delivered in v2.1.0

Allow device to be locked (screen off) for video podcasts.
