allow multiple playlists
I listen to different types of podcasts depending on what I am doing. I'd like to be able to separate them so I don't have to keep messing with the order of the list.
919 votesPodcast Addict v3.42 has just been released.
This new version finally adds support to multiple playlists. In order to use this new feature, you can go into the Playlists screen and select the new ‘Custom’ tab.
Then you can select the category of your choice and listen to it.
Those default categories are provided by the podcast owner in their RSS feeds, but you can press on the toolbar ‘Category’ button and add/delete/customize them.
That way you can create playlists like News, Commute, Workout, Audiobooks, SFW, …
Each playlist can have its own sorting mode. Please let me know what you think about this new feature
Thanks

New material design
It would be good to give Podcast addict a fresh new design with google material design. This would probably also enhance customer experience and boost app downloads.
450 votesEdit: Podcast Addict v3.0 is now available on the Play Store. Please contact me in case of an issue so I can fix it ASAP
Thanks !=========
I just started working on the v3.0
This new version will have a lot of technical modifications to prepare future features of Podcast Addict (Android TV, Android Auto, Android wear, …)
I won’t change the whole app design, but I will do some layout modifications to add a small ‘material design’ touch to the app.
It will integrate better on device running Android 5.0Please join the beta program so you can test the new version and give me some feedback.
Edit: The first beta should be available in the next hour

Mark podcast as listened when is 95% done
When a podcast is done, I skip to the next in queue. I dont want to listen to the entire outro.
As it is now, this leaves a bunch of 99% listened podcasts in my playlist, which is annoying.
388 votesI will add a new setting to allow skipping episodes outro.
This will be a podcast custom setting.
You will have to select the number of seconds to skip at the end of the podcast. Once this threshold is reached the app will consider that the episode has been fully listened to so depending on your settings it will be marked as read, deleted, removes from the playlist and the resume position will be reset. This will be release in v3.4
Edit: Available in the latest beta.
Feel free to test it and to give me some feedbackThanks

Add support for chapter marks
For long audio files support for chapter marks would be great. See here: http://auphonic.com/blog/2013/07/03/chapter-marks-and-enhanced-podcasts/
328 votesThe app now supports chapters for M4A, MP3 and Vorbis files
It can also extract those informations from the RSS feeds.Chapter support includes:
– timestamp
– name
– custom artwork
– custom urls -
Add an "Archive mode" for automatically listening to podcasts in sequential order.
Many of the podcasts I listen to are sequential histories or narrative content. I'd love an "archive mode" for podcasts, where say, if I've already marked episode 1-39 as read, it will automatically download and queue 40 and 41. Then once I've listened to 40, it will automatically download 42 and so on. And of course, it would ignore new episode releases until I've caught up. Currently, I have to go manually download the next few episodes every so often.

Thanks !
I will do some tests to see if I can add an ‘archive mode’ checkbox, that will change the behavior of the current automatic download setting.
In that case the app will keep up to XX downloaded episodes. This number will depend on the maximum number of downloaded episodes to keep which can be set in Settings/Automatic cleanup. Please join the beta user group in order to test this new feature in the next couple of days (http://podcastaddict.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/253911-how-to-join-the-beta-program)

Audio Bookmarks in the player
I suggest you add audio bookmark feature in the player.
I like to re-listen 2 or 3 times the same part of a radio podcast and at the moment I have to use another android player do audio-bookmarking.
It would be great if I could have all integrating in one app.
Thanks for considering this idea.283 votesDelivered in v3.33

Next version of the app will include a new playlist mode called ‘Automatic podcast playlist’ (at least for now).
This mode will disable the current playlist and all the ‘add to playlist’ / ‘remove from playlist’ menus and buttons.
When selected, this mode will work like this:Start playing an episode. The app will automatically build a playlist with all the unread episodes of the current podcast. If you press the play button on an episode from another podcast, the app will clear the current playlist and build a new one for the new podcast.
Please join the beta group to test this new feature as soon as it’s available (http://podcastaddict.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/253911-how-to-join-the-beta-program). Feel free to let me know what you think about it. Every feedback is welcome.

A feature to only keep a specified number of most recent episodes per podcasts
I use too much memory now. If I could manually keep important but delete everything else older than say, the most recent 3 episodes. That would be awesome!
153 votesThis feature has been delivered in the latest version of Podcast Addict (v1.23)
You can define the number of episodes to keep in Settings/Automatic Cleanup.
You can also override this global settings for each Podcast. Long press on the podcast (main screen) and select ‘Custom Settings’ from the menu -
Listening statistics
A statistics section that tracks how many podcasts you've listened to, total listening time etc. I know it doesn't add anything functional, but it would be a lot of fun to have.
153 votesNext version will add a Statistics screen in the app settings, that will show the total listening time, time saved with the skip silence feature. A first beta should be available in a couple of days.
I will improve this screen and add more statistics in the following buildsEdit: Delivered in v3.26

Multiple selection for erasing downloaded episodes
it would be nice to have the option to select one by one the downloaded episodes we want to delete, then push a button "Delete selected". Currently, it is possible to delete in one click all episodes, or in many clicks episode by episode.
131 votesI just published v1.22 on the Play Store. You can now select ‘Action mode’ in a screen that display a list of episode to do ‘batch actions’ like download/delete/enqueue/dequeue/mark read/…

Allow temporarily 3G download
If you want to temporarily download a podcast on 3G connection (short podcast/no Wifi connection...), you need to deactivate Wifi download, download the podcast then reactivate WiFi download.
Adding a "Force download" in podcast menu will be great :)128 votesUntil I implement a ‘real’ download manager, the next version will allow you to long press on an episode in the ‘Download manager screen’ and select ‘Force download’. This will allow to download THIS episode while bypassing the app network settings. This flag will reset when the app gets killed or the if the device is rebooted. If you don’t enable this in for the first episode in the download queue, then it won’t do anything until the 1st episode is downloaded.
This will be implemented in the next version (v3.3)
Edit: Delivered in v3.3

Add an 'AMOLED' or 'Deep Black' theme would be great.
For users which use the application during night or with a very low level of light, an additional 'AMOLED' or 'Deep Black' theme would be really great. Usually, all the apps using a true 'AMOLED' theme (if available) are better to save battery.
116 votesNow available in the latest version of the app

Next version will have a new ‘Black AMOLED theme’
The only difference will be that the screen background will now use a true black color
You can test it in the upcoming beta -
Exclude some podcasts from sync to reduce traffic => Some podcasts are refreshed only once a week/month
It would be awesome if one could modify the time for manual refreshing for every podcast separately. There are some podcasts with >500 episodes which upload new casts only once a month. So it is useless to refresh them once or twice a day (not by automatic refresh [I don't like that] but my manual refreshing) when I want to refresh my daily casts (like news or daily documentaries). So it would be perfect, to modify the duration for refreshing like "everytime when refresh manually [standard]", "once a week [with starting date or weekday]", "once a month [with starting date]"…
113 votesA new feature has been delivered in the latest v3.8
It allows you do disable the update of specific podcasts. You can access this settings by long pressing on the podcast and then selecting Custom settings.
The only way to update such podcasts will be to open the podcast screen and press on the toolbar update button. Please let me know if I need to keep this feature request open.

Have the ability to delete individual episodes off the app so you don't have 200+ just sitting there rather than just hiding them.

Add new sorting and filtering/view options to "downloaded episodes"
I want to be able to easily play all of the downloaded episodes from one specific podcast feed in oldest to newest order. Currently this is difficult.
When a podcast feed has dozens of unread episodes, finding the downloaded ones can be difficult. One way to fix this would be to change the "view" options when looking in a specific podcast feed. Currently you can "view all episodes" or "hide read episodes". If you could add "view only downloaded episodes" then this would solve my problem.
Another approach would be to change the "Downloaded episodes" view and allow sorting in…95 votesYou should now be able to do this in the latest v2.28.
You can go into the ‘Downloaded episodes’ screen and filter by podcast. It may not be exactly what you were looking for, but the result should be the same.
Please let me know if I need to reopn,e this. Thanks

Adding online radio stations streamings
I would like to manage all my listenings only with one app. It would be great if there were the possibility of listening live radio stations.
I disvovered the power of podcast managers learning English, so I would like that Podcast Addict had a feature to listen to BBC Radio 4 and 4 xtra live, etc., or any other. Now I have to do it using another app as Tune In.
Thank you very much.
