Add FF/RW buttons to Android Auto on slide screen
Add buttons to the slide screen along with the favorite and sync functions. When listening to podcasts it is necessary to navigate to an episode and then to skip commercials... I've seen this in another app... it'd be nice to be able to select whether FF or skip is on the main screen or slide screen.

Allow forcing expanded notification
I like the option to allow the playing notification to be expanded but it frequently shrinks back to small size at inopportune moments. An additional checkbox to force it to always be expanded would be great.
1 voteNotifications are managed by Android, not by the app. Unfortunately I cannot change this behavior and force the notificaiton to be always expanded

View source podcast from podcast search
At the moment if you use the podcast search option to create a virtual podcast using a search term, it would be useful to be able to click to view episodes in the source podcast rather than those from the search. Often interesting podcasts crop up in my search feed but to view more episodes from them I need to do a search.

Change name of directory from "podcast" to "Podcast"
I use a Sonos Playbar to listen to music stored on my mobile phone. To identify Podcasts as such, Sonos needs them to be installed in a directory named "Podcast". Unfortunatly podcastaddict saves podcasts in a directory named "podcast" which is not "accepted" by Sonos. Sonos even doesn't accept "podcast" as sub-directory to "Podcast". Any chance to change the directories name within podcastaddict to "Podcast"?
1 voteThis isn’t an issue for the Sonos app.
Please follow the instructions provided in the app FAQs to make your downloaded files available in the Sonos app. Thanks -
Add a backwards button in the quick access
Currently there is only a forward button in the quick access (I mean in the notification bar and the quick bar on lockscreen), but no backwards button. I've never used the forward button, but I do use the backwards one: every time that I don't understand something that they say in a podcast I have to go backwards a few seconds and I have to unlock my phone, enter the security code, go into the episode and tap the backwards button.
3 votesYou can go into the app Settings/Notifications/Player screen in orde to customize the notificaiton content and add/remove buttons.

App Drawer Episode Playback Progress % / bar, Time Left, Episode Release date in Notification area
Thank you for the great player!
Would it be possible to add to App Drawer Notification Area line following info:
Episode Playback Progress %
Bar line,
h:mm Left to episode playback end
Episode Release dateSome audiobook players have it - like Listen Audiobook Player and Smart Audiobook Player - they also use taller notification line for more space, and it's 1st priority, so used to have this info in Notification list pulldown.
I already have it in "Expandable Notification" - but info above is still not present.
Thank you for the great work!
20 votesLike other player app, Podcast Addict relies on the device built-in media player notification.
Therefore the information displayed and layout is controlled by Google

Love your app!! And I'm a paying subscriber.
I would really love to be able to search across podcasts for specific keywords. For instance, I listen to a lot of travel podcasts, and each time I want to learn about Ireland, for instance, I have to search within each individual podcast for episodes. Is there a way to search globally, across all of my podcasts for every episode relating to Ireland? Not that I have seen. It would be great to search just once and have a compilation.
In any case, I still love your app and use it nearly…
1 voteYou can do this using the Search episodes’’ entry menu in the navigation sidebar

Auto-download when playing.
Add an option to start downloading an episode as soon as you start playing it. Then play from the downloaded file, and delete the file upon completion of the episode.
4 votesYou can enable playback of episodes while they are downloading.
In that case you can start downlaoding an episode and then press play. The app will play the content already downloaded instead of streaming. Then depending on your automatic cleanup settings, the episode will be deleted automatically once playback is done -
Add option ’download and add to playlist' to episode context menu
When I want to add few older episodes to playlist and download them I need to click at least 2 times on every episode. Could you add 'download and add to playlist' option in the episode menu. Right under add to playlist'.
3 votesYou can do this by enableing Automatic playlist for downloaded episodes in the ap Settings/Playlist screen. Then you just need to press the downlaod button and the app will download the episode then add it to the playlist automatically

You can do this by replacing the app launcher icon with a widget called Podcast Addict – Shortcut

Add a play button to the current Android taskbar
The current Android taskbar has options to rewind, fast-forward, and close buttons. I would like a play/pause button so that it can olay over apps that try to take audio priority.
3 votesThe app has the play button by default but not the rewind one.
It looks like you customized the notification. You can then go back in Settings/Notifications/Player to restore the play/pause button.

Add a one-time override option for WiFi only downloads
Add a one-time override option for WiFi only downloads. Instead of "you can't do that" offer a one-time mobile data download and confirmation dialog "are you sure?"
1 voteThe app doesn’t prevent you from pressing on the download button. No matter the current connection status, the download is added to the download queue. Then if you’re connected to 4g and wants to force a download you can long press on an episode in the download manager screen to force the download

Overcast’s Smart Speed
Overcast has a system that speeds up dead space in podcast and also gives cool statistics about how much time youve saved.. you should look into it and decide if this is sometjing you would spend your time on, but i would use it constantly if you did :)
3 votesThe app already has a ‘Skip silence’ features that looks similar to the one you’re describing.
You can also see your statistics from the player statistics screen -
Add an option to auto delet an ep marked read after X days.
Not sure if I missed how this works inside the app, but couldn't find anything in automatic cleanup related to read items.
Sometimes I don't mind if my collection builds up so don't want a limit on number of files.
1 voteThere’s no relation between the read status and the downloadeed episode status. The app will not delete episodes based on this as we migh want to keep some downlaoded files of episodes we already listened to.

Add an option for marking an episode read if X time is left.
Many podcasts end with mindless chatter, ads, or something else I'm not interested... So I move onto my next episode of whatever and that last episode remains unread until I manually go back and mark/delete it. Would be nice if this option existed so if say 2 minute remain, mark as read.
This would be even more useful if you added another option to delete episodes X days after being marked read.
1 voteYou can skip to the next episode by pressing on the player next episode button to delete the current episode at the same time.
You can also set a skip outro settings for this podcast so the app can automatically skip the last xx seconds of the podcast -
Mark Read/Unread
I would like to be able to manually mark unread from drop down menu in playlist.
1 voteSorry but I don’t want to add any more entry n this menu.
You can open the episode description screen from the playlist and then press on the toolbar ‘mark unread’ entry.
