Fast forward and Next for external/android auto
May it be possible to have both in the same time Fast Forward and Next when using external commands (e.g., Bluetooth commands in a car), or Android Auto.
The option which allows to change Next button into Fast Forward button is nice, but having both in the same time could be really useful.
Maybe external commands limit is only next/back or forward/rewind, in that case could you hack the Back button to be Fast Forward one?3 votesAndroid Auto UI cannot be customized. Therefore you cannot have both buttons at the same time. You need to select how the displayed button will behave

Restart after app update

on downloads id like to see a % downloaded bar or figure so i have an idea its actually working

Add identifying code for your selection of podcasts
So when you get a new phone or on Chromebook you can simply put in said code maybe a 10 digit hex number or something. That subscribes you to all the podcasts / RSS feeds you were subscribed to before .

Widget keeps last played source
When listening to radio streams, have the widget retain the radio stream - it currently reverts to the last podcast instead

lockscreen widget android 4.4
My former recension:
"Sehr gute App. Alles was man so braucht ist mit dabei. Schade ist nur die fehlende 4.4 Unterstützung des Widgets."
I want to describe it a little more precise. The widgets are good. I meant the lockscreen widget. At this time it disappeared often. This happened even while pressing controllebuttons on the lockscreen and not just after locking the screen.
Today this issue is gone. I will change my comment soon.

Restore Default download location
I accidently changed the default download location of my Nexus 6P. I do not remember where the default location is, Will the episodes i've downloaded still be able to play? How can I change it back to the default storage location?
1 voteYou can store the downloaded files on any writable folder of the device. Existing episodes will be moved there so you can still play them
You can go back and select the app install folder if you want to but that won’t change anything. -
Option to start all episodes of podcast at X minutes, zero (default) being the beginning.
On one of the podcasts I listen to, they replay 'best of' content for the first 35-ish minutes. An option to start all episodes at 35 minutes (configurable setting) would be awesome for skipping that. Another app has this but I like, and use, yours more.

Long press on the podcast, select Custom settings, then override the player settings and enable Skip intro. That way you can enter the time to be skipped in seconds -

Add a config to set a custom user agent for the download manager

The app uses its own user agent so the podcast owner can know where the streaming/downloads comes from.
Allowing custom user agent will make the podcast statistics even less reliable

Override pause for specific apps
Can there be a feature to automatically override the pause for certain apps? I want the app to pause playback when directions from Waze or Maps start but not when I specifically open other apps, like Pokémon Go.
If that's not possible, then could we at least get a way to manually override the pause? For example, if I'm listening to music and I open pokemon go, the music player pauses but I can use the phone dropdown menu to play again without quitting pokemon. This app doesn't appear in the dropdown menu3 votesSorry but this isn’t possible.
The app either reacts to other apps audio focus requests or ignore them.
Android doesn’t provide any information about the app asking for the audio focus. -
smarter auto-deletion
i dont usually listen to the podcast till the very end as there are credits and bullshit in the last 2-3 mnutes and therefore the episode won't be marked as read and wont be auto deleted.
im suggesting it to mark the episode as read if we have listened to X% of the episode. that could be a user configured param for max flexibilty and defaulted to 100% so it wont affect anyone that is used to the current behaviorother than that - an awesome app
3 votesYou can long press on the previous/next episode buttons if you want the app to delete the current episode while skipping to the previous/next one.
Otherwise you can go into the podcast custom settings and enable the Skip Outro setting -
Improve Android Auto
Some of these have been mentioned before though not for AA:
-Sort lists by oldest to newest, or allow me to browse for the episode I want. Right now, the newest is on top and I am prevented from scrolling to the oldest until my car is parked which means I cannot use PA. Alternatively, get rid of the scroll prevention, but I don't know if that is possible.
-Add continuous playback for a podcast. Right now I have to manually select a podcast every time one ends, which when compounded with the first point, means I either spend too…1 voteAA displays episodes using the default sorting of Podcast Addict. If you change the sorting on your device, it will change the sorting on AA as well
There’s no workaround for the AA restrictions regarding the # of action required to browse content. It will only allow scrolling a couple of times.
AA works just like the app. If you enabled Continuous playback, then pressing play on an episode will create a queue of every unread episodes of the same podcast.

After start of the app switch volume control
from ringtone volume to music volume (like the standard android music player does), so that i am able to control the volume before I start/continue playing a podcast.

Fix app to work properly in power saving mode
I'm using the app on a Galaxy Note 5 with the latest Marshmallow release and updates. PA consistently stops playing a podcast after a minute or so while the device is set in power saving mode. This never happens in normal mode, nor could I reproduce the problem with another streaming audio app.
1 voteThere’s nothing I can do if the device kills the app. When power saving mode the device will do whatever it takes to limit battery usage. If it means killing apps or preventing network access to some apps it will do it as it’s the purpose of this mode. Sorry but there’s nothing I can do to prevent this

Create the distinction between portuguese from Portugal and from Brazil.
Since Brazil has more people, the top podcasts in Portuguese are all from there. Would be nice to see only the ones from Portugal
