  1. problem with the podcast

    problem with the podcast"investors edge" won't automatically update. I have to unsubscribe then subscribe to get latest podcast

    From what you’re saying it looks like the podcast owner doesn’t follow RSS specs and might be updating old episodes entry instead of publishing new ones. If so, this won’t work in RSS reader

  2. When Sorting by Download Date, Do Not show episodes that have been deleted

    Because of Marshmallow SD Card restriction, I have to manually copy / delete podcasts via a file manager app (fx).

    Unfortunately, podcast addict still thinks the files are downloaded and shows them when I set 'Downloaded' (instead of Latest Episodes) and Sorted by download date.

    I’m sorry but I don’t understand what you mean by Where’s the Chris moles show podcasts
    The app just shows the content of the RSS feeds you subscribed to. Only the podcast owner are in charge of updating the RSS feeds

  4. Stops streaming every 5 mins or so although my signal is strong and all other apps seem fine

    Is this because my free trial expired? This app used to work well

    There’s no such thing as a free trial version. The app is free and full featured.
    The donate app doesn’t had or unlock any extra feature.

    Please give more detail like the device, android version, if you’re streaming, …
    My guess would be that you’re using a Samsung device with the device built-in battery enabled. Because of that every apps in the ‘optimized apps’ list will be killed every xx minutes

  6. Captive portal sanity check

    Check media has been downloaded correctly.

    The captive portal in my local chain shopping mall serves a html login page with a code 200 OK by DNS poisoning. I guess you can easily check for media file integrity by looking for the the html tag at the start of the http stream, and both discard the file and pause download manager if corrupt?

    The app already detects captive portals when updating, downloading, …
    Make sure it’s enabled in Settings/Network

    When downloading the app checks the answer response code, content type and file size as well to rejects invalid downloads.

    Then download will fail with an error saying:

    “The episode url seems to redirect to a web page instead of the episode media file. Maybe your hotspot/ISP is blocking the content or the podcast owner provided an invalid url in the RSS feed”

  7. Every time I open the app I go to, downloaded episodes. Can I make it open up to that screen?

  10. Allow the app to be moved to and run from the external SD card. Many phones have limited internal memory.

    I see you've declined this below but it IS possible now. For example, many apps and widgets on the galaxy S7 can be moved to, run from and store files on the external SD card. Please revisit this.

    If I enable this, it will also be enabled on older version of Android that’s why it remains disabled. But as explained before you can already move the storage folder on the SD card. Only the app database remains on the internal memory which is best for performance and for the data integrity. The app database doesn’t take much space.

  11. Add the ability to search podcasts by tag and refine search by sub tag

    I was looking for new podcasts on certain subjects but couldn't seem to search by tag or sub category. I think the addition of this feature would help people find podcasts relevent to their interests.

    The search engine already searches for the keywords in every field provided by the podcast owner: title, description, keywords, …
    You should already be able to search by any tag you want to.
    You can also try to enable ‘iTunes search engine’ if you want to try a different search engine.

  12. allow people to log-in or sign in

    I've had to factory reset my phone a few times in the last few months. and all of my subscriptions have been lost. A log-in or sign in feature where your subscriptions and listened to episodes are remembered would be helpful

    Duplicated feature request.
    Please vote for the existing requests.

    Until this get implemented, you can use the app built-in backup/restore feature which allows you to save and restore all the app data in a matter of minute. You can then retrieve your subscriptions, playlist, settings and episodes status in the new or reset device .

  13. Override Order Per Podcast

    As some podcasts are written to be played in order, it'd be good to be able to change the queue order in the same fashion as other Override Default settings.

  15. Add activity or shortcut for latest episodes and downloaded episodes

    This would make it far easier to use podcast addict in car using the car dashdroid launcher from the play store.

  17. Adding a compact view in other to use podcast addict in multi windows mode

    Currently I use podcast addict in multi windows mode in a rooted galaxy note 2. Waze on the top that fill 3/4 of screen and podcast addict on the remaining space. I can drive and listening podcast. It works but it's not perfect. It would be great to have a compact view that display only the controls.
    The new version of android will integrate natively the multi window mode.

    The idea is always to delete all marked as read episodes. my idea would be to add the option of "select all read episodes" and then delete them...

  19. Differentiate between "new" unread episodes and "old" unread episodes

    Some podcast have hundreds of episodes, I only want to mark read episodes I have listened to but would like if instead of just showing a + sign all the time it would have a symbol showing that there is a newly released episodes I haven't heard.

    The app is showing ‘+’ because there are more than 99 unread episodes for the current podcast. As soon as this number decrease, you will see the real number of unread episodes and once you reached 0 you can hide the podcast by pressing on the toolbar ‘eye’ button
