EDIT: a 1st beta will be available by the end of the day.
FYI the Custom playlists will soon be improved.
Filters will be available so the selected category can only show episodes based on their download status, played status, stared status, publication date, …
I get it that some of you want multiple playlists were episodes can be manually added, but there’s no plan to implement this for now.
However, according to the feedback I got by email, it looks like those filters will solve limitations of the current solution for most users.
Feel free to send me some feedback by email if you have ideas for other filters that can be implemented (Settings/Feedback/Email)

I have an eye problem where any dark text (grey for example) on a dark background is very hard to read. I suggest White on Black theme where the global font is just white on a uniform black background and it only greys out when the episode is marked played. Also Black on white for people who have the opposite problem where the white background becomes too bright that it blots out some text font and other bright colors like yellow. (can't distinguish much between bright yellow and bright green too.)

Just the podcast title and the unplayed count will do. Too much information can be overwhelming for new users and might scare them away. I even suggest making a simple list mode the default on fresh install.

I just added it and imported all of my podcast from another app that I now hate and my first impression I was looking at an airport arrival/departure board or a business news where the stock exchange just marquees by. It's very overwhelming for new users and I wouldn't be surprised if it just turns off some new users.
