Search should default to whatever settings the user used for the previous search
Every time I search for podcasts it defaults to ALL. But I ALWAYS want audio and NEVER want video. How about defaulting to whatever the user used for the previous search?

Add a screen where users can read transcript and use player control simultaneouly
Hi,
I have pruchased you appr and I think you really wrote a good app for podcast.
I mainly use it as an english-learning tool by accessing english learning podcast, ex: esl podcast.But, I have trouble when I want to read the transcript and sometimes jump a few seconds backward for repeat.
In current version, I need to switch to the screen which contains icon for jumping backforward and then switch back for transcript.
Is it possiable to add a screen where users can read transcript and use player control simultaneouly?

In the next version you will be able to do something similar.
In the player screen you will be able to swipe left to replace the episode artwork with the episode show notes.
A first beta should be available later today.

Next version will add an ‘Error’ tab in the download manager screen which will show the list of download failures. This will allow you to easily restart those downloads if you want to

Have PA automatically post my activity to Twitter.
Any time I start listening to a podcast, generate a tweet with the episode title and a link to the podcast.

skip longpress deletion confirmation
How about an option to skip the deletion confirmation after longpressing the next track button. I have NEVER used the No button. And it is distracting/dangerous when presented in the Car Layout since I must avert my eyes from the road to accurately hit the YES button.

Playlist option: "stop after each title"
(because I sometimes don´t want to hear episodes one after another in a row without a pause, especially while driving my car)

automate thumbnail deletion
I have just manually deleted hundreds of thumbnails at about 1 Mbyte each. The system must store every thumbnail when you scroll through a list e.g. I had every one from the BBC list. Found the manual thumbnail tidy up in settiñgs but would be better automated. Thanks
25 votesI will add a new settings to delete thumbnails of episodes marked as read and to prevent them from being downloaded again later (unless the episode is marked unread)

option to hide shuffle button on Player screens
Since I never EVER want to shuffle-play my podcasts, but sometimes inadvertently hit the shuffle button (and don't realize it till much later), I'd like the option to hide those buttons on the Player screens.

Atom is the other popular feed format used for podcasts. Currently, PA only appears to support only RSS feeds.

Add a secondary (and possibly 3rd) sorting priority to playlist
I have my playlist set to sort by priority, and right now that's all I can do. I'd like to be able to sort by priority THEN by date published. I'd imagine maybe a number (1) (2) (3) identifier in the sorting options could be added for this.

Recalculate the total time and time remaining on podcasts playing at speeds faster or slower than 1x.
Currently, when you run a podcast at a different speed, the time remaining and the total time remain the same, and time remaining just ticks by faster or slower than normal. This makes it difficult to gauge how much time the podcast will take to listen to if you are trying to cram an episode into a specified period of time.

Allow the widget to take you directly to the Podcasts screen instead of the Player screen.
When pressing the image on the home screen widget, it automatically takes you to the player screen. There's already an option to add a playlist button to the widget. I'd love the option of having the ability to press the image on the widget to go directly to the podcasts screen.

Sort Podcasts by Current Number of Downloaded Episodes
I like to download a supply of podcasts for when I am out of cellular / wifi range.
If you are like me, would it not be handy to have a sort ordered by the current number of downloaded episodes by podcast?

Edit: Please update to the latest BETA: v3.10 build 569 and let me know what you think of the new Priority setting screen.
You will also find this screen in Settings/Display/PodcastsI will improve the way to set the podcast priority in the next version, but because it makes sense to have multiple podcasts using the same priority I’m not sure a drag and drop list might be doable.
I’ll let you know once the beta is available to get your feedback -
Allow "Force Download" while on mobile data.
I'm unable to download an episode of my choosing on mobile data unless I enable all episode downloads over mobile,and risk forgetting and having it chew through my data.
69 votesUntil I implement a ‘real’ download manager, the next version will allow you to long press on an episode in the ‘Download manager screen’ and select ‘Force download’. This will allow to download THIS episode while bypassing the app network settings. This flag will reset when the app gets killed or the if the device is rebooted. If you don’t enable this in for the first episode in the download queue, then it won’t do anything until the 1st episode is downloaded.
This will be implemented in the next version (v3.3)

Download from multiple feeds at the same time.
Was stuck downloading a 60 meg podcast at a very slow speed, while having about 5-6 other podcasts in the queue from other feeds, all about 3-5 megs that would come down in a couple of seconds.
