  1. Always have N podcast downloaded

    IMHO is interesting set a minimun of podcast downloaded. If you prevent you need n podcast to listen every day, you will have podcast and not run out. I.e. If you set 5, you have in phone card only 2, app will download 3 when it can (i.e. wifi)

  2. New material design

    It would be good to give Podcast addict a fresh new design with google material design. This would probably also enhance customer experience and boost app downloads.

    I just started working on the v3.0

    This new version will have a lot of technical modifications to prepare future features of Podcast Addict (Android TV, Android Auto, Android wear, …)

    I won’t change the whole app design, but I will do some layout modifications to add a small ‘material design’ touch to the app.
    It will integrate better on device running Android 5.0

    Please join the beta program so you can test the new version and give me some feedback.

  3. Choix multiples de podcast avant action

    Serait il possible de permettre une multi sélection de podcast pour les actions et éviter ainsi de répéter unitairement l'action à faire ?

  4. Mark RSS feeds as read, when you open them

    If I open my RSS feeds (e.g. heise newsticker or xkcd), then they are not marked as read. I always have to mark them manually. This could be automated.

  5. Playlist shortcut in player view

    In the player view, a tab to quickly view the playlist would simply navigation.

  6. Cut silences

    After using for a while Overcast app for iPhone I appreciate the feature of automatic silences removal, to speed up the playback without spending up the speech. Basically you should define a maximum "pause" (=significantly quieter passage) between words and cut any additional pause you encounter. This can save up to 15% of the playback time. Of course, since you want to check volume level and not audio samples , you may find more efficient to work on the FFT coefficients in the compressed audio.

    A new beta will be available before the end of the week with a ‘silence skip’ feature.

    This feature will remain in beta for some time, because I guess it will need some tweaking, so please, try the beat and let me know if you’re having sound quality issue. Depending on the podcast I saved from 1.5% up to 20%

  7. Set the priority of the notification panel widget.

    The app PowerAmp has an option to set the priority of the widget in the notification panel. It'd work like that.

    Sometimes I find. Myself with new notifications that make the widget go back to the unexpanded version. If we were able to set the priority at high or max this would atop happening.

  8. add Mono Audio Support

    I always listen to Podcasts at work and I'm only allowed to have one ear plugged in
    So Mono sound would be awesome

  9. to be able to listen podcast during it is downloading

    at the moment if podcast is downloading and i want to listen it starts to stream it so it doubles traffic. it is not practical with mobile data

  10. option to play a podcast directly on selection

    it takes too many clicks to get to a play button. Coming from Doggcatcher, I've gotten used to being able to just tap an episode and it immediately start, not move to the decription page, which I seldom read, and find the play button there, or long press and find it on the list.

  11. Take podcast lengths from real file when possible, not metadata.

    Once a file is downloaded, you KNOW how long it is, and longer longer have to use the feed metadata. Lake Woebegone is ALWAYS 15:00 in the feed. Penn's Sunday School is always 00:00. Once the file is on the device, it should be trivial to see how long the file ACTUALLY is for sure.

  12. Adding online radio stations streamings

    I would like to manage all my listenings only with one app. It would be great if there were the possibility of listening live radio stations.

    I disvovered the power of podcast managers learning English, so I would like that Podcast Addict had a feature to listen to BBC Radio 4 and 4 xtra live, etc., or any other. Now I have to do it using another app as Tune In.

    It will remain ‘in beta’ for quite some time, but basic features should work fine in v3.11

  14. Move Chromecast button global

    You should have Chromecast button visible everywhere, so we could connect to it before playing the video, and properly disconnect from it after playing the videos. (like Youtube, Daliymotion, ... )

    More details :
    When you reach the end of the playlist, you can no more open the player view, and thus you can't disconnect from Chromecast anymore.
    Also, we must first start playing a video to connect to the Chromecast : this leads to first seconds of video being played on the device, that's annoying on short videos.

    Would be very usefull to be able to sort on Priority then by date. This would ensure that the newest of your favorites is allways on top

  18. MANUAL Podcast Sort - Not using "Priority"

    I know that one can click Custom Settings, Podcast Priority, and set a number, but this is WAY too cumbersome and not efficient, especially when you want to add newly discovered podcasts and fit them in somewhere. It would be infinitely easier and preferable to simply be able to DRAG and DROP each podcast in the order you wish (if you are using Manual sort). You wouldn't lose the ability to sort by date or alpha etc. but if you select manual sort, you can drag and drop. Please add this it would be so awesome!

  19. add the ability to be able to choose all podcasts you want associated with a particular category at once.

    That way a person does not have to click on every podcast individually to pick its categorie(s), which can take forever if you have hundreds of podcasts to sort.

  20. update the pending downloads page to allow for override of only wifi requirement for individual episode.

    I like the global setting to only download over wifi. However, sometimes I am away from wifi and want to download something to listen to. I might have 5 podcasts pending download. I'd like to be able to go into the pending downloads page, long press on the episode, and tell it to download even though I'm not on wifi.

    Until I implement a ‘real’ download manager, the next version will allow you to long press on an episode in the ‘Download manager screen’ and select ‘Force download’. This will allow to download THIS episode while bypassing the app network settings. This flag will reset when the app gets killed or the if the device is rebooted. If you don’t enable this in for the first episode in the download queue, then it won’t do anything until the 1st episode is downloaded.

    This will be implemented in the next version (v3.3)
