Sound quality and effects
May we please have the option to modify sound quality and effects for individual podcasts. It appears that once it is set, it goes across the board through every subscription the same way. It would be nice to have it more individualized. I do listen to a few music only podcasts and it would be nice to have Rock and music equalizer set for those & voice set for the majority of the rest. Thank you for your consideration.
1 voteyou can set the default behavior of the app in its settings, however audio effects are saved by podcast when you change them from the player screen. That way every audio effect including playabck speed can be customized per podcast

Stop and close the player
It would be great if we had an option Within the three dot drop down menu in the top right of the player to have an option to stop and close the player all together. It would prevent anything from being played accidentally And separately from the sleep timer, it would be a convenience to not start an episode that we wouldn't want to begin until later.

Edit description or attach note to episode
I use PA for learning languages. With some episodes, I need a transcript, that is provided by the author. It would be nice if I could read it without having to swap to another app
1 voteYou can add bookmarks to any episode. This allows you to write notes at some specific positions in the file. If you don't care about the position you can just write some comments/text at the position 00:00

Import listening history from RadioPublic app
I've been using the RadioPublic app for years and have years' worth of listening history on that app. Today they announced they are closing the app on March 31. The app can export OPML files of subscriptions, but my listening history is not exportable. It would be great if PodcastAddict could somehow figure out a way to import RadioPublic listening history data for those of us coming from that app to PA.
1 voteSorry but you won't be able to do betetr than the OPML export/import. This is the only standard and you will only be able to import your list of subscriptions

Add to top of playlist
Add a button in the dropdown context window for "add to top of playlist" so that it plays the episode right away while keeping the integrity of the playlist, thus continuing on the playlist as it was previously while playing a new podcast first.
1 voteEpisodes are added to the laylist based on the playlist sorting mode. If the manual sorting mode is selected then the app relies on the Settings/Playlist/Add to playlist position

Episode Description Content
Provide a more complete episode description and include program content links after the description as is done on other podcast apps.
1 voteA podcast is a RSS feed. The app shows the information provioded by the podcaster in the feed. Only the podcaster can improve the description. The same exact content will be displayed in every app including links

History status of episode
On one of the episode listing pages for a podcast I had downloaded some episodes for (and deleted after playing), along with other episodes listed (and not downloaded), all download icons were shown with the same gray colored appearance.
It would be helpful to indicate which of those episodes have already been played.
I have yet to discover a setting for "mark as played" for this purpose.1 voteYou can access the playback history from the app navigation sidebar. You can then filter by podcast or category. Make sure this entry is enabled in Settings/NAvigation sidebar first

Display download progress to replace "x"
Currently, the only indication of downloading of an episode is taking place whenever I download an individual episode of a podcast not subscribed to is the appearance of an "x" inside of a circle as well as an arrow pointing downward on the top left of the page. Suggestion is to "light" the boundary of the circle icon to indicate the progress of the download. Currently the only display change on the episode page is the change of an "x" to an arrow facing in the right direction. Display change was posted as having been done, but as of 3/20/24,…
1 voteThe episode artwork shows the progress of the download with an animation. You can also see the % on the download notification itself. Please send me a screenshot showing the screen you're refering to while a download is in progress so I can understand why it's not displayed (Settings/Feedback)

Replay of played episodes
Settings for an episode was set on "stop at end of played episode" (without removing or deleting it) when I applied the set timer. I awoke this morning and did not find this episode listed among rhe "downloaded" or "recent" episodes. I was able to find it, but it was marked as played yet had an active ready to play arrow. When I tapped on the arrow, the epusode began to play but did not offer an episode box where I could control playback. I had never seen this isdue before. I had set the timer to stop one minute…
1 voteYou can use the Sleep timer setting to keep the episode if this is what you need. Otherwise the episode will be processed as played according to your settings in which case you can still re-listen to it, as usual but the episode will be maarked as played and its downloaded file might have been deleted

App playback activated although "off."
Odd. While I listened to a Zoom audio feed (and Podcast Addict window was closed with an episode I had "stopped"), jiggling of my corded earphone caused Google Assistant to appear and simultaneously my Android 7 smartphone played the audio from the PA previously stopped episode over the Zoom audio feed. This occurred at least 5 times. Once I stabilized tbe cord connection, there was no unwanted audio feed from the episode heard over the Zoom audio.
1 voteWhat you're describing looks like a play remote command is sent to the app. Please quickly go into Settings/Feedback and send me the logs right after this happens so I can see what's going on (Settings/Feedback/Send logs)

Use the Google Sleep API to detect whether a listener has fallen asleep. https://developers.google.com/location-context/sleep
Once sleep is detected. Stop the podcast from playing.

Je me sers de l'alarme pour écouter les informations à une heure précise.
Malheureusement, l'alarme ne change pas la source si Podcast Addict est actif ce qui empêche d'écouter autre chose en attendant.

Keep displaying episode cover of Played episodes
Currently any episode that has an individual episode cover will switch to the general podcast cover once that episode has been played. I'd like an option to keep displaying the episode cover instead.

Cleanup downloaded episodes
A cleanup option where it can delete all the episodes in my play list but keep the playlist intact then I can redownload them if I want based on what I am binging or stream them if I am on wifi. Would save and allow me to clean up phone storage.
1 voteFrom the playlist screen you can open the episode by pressing on the artwork and from there delete them and swipe left/right to navigate between the episodes

syncroniser podcasts lu et non lu entre plusieurs appareils
Quand on utilise l'application sur plusieurs appareils on ne sait pas quels épisodes ont été lu sur l'autre appareil. Il faudrait que lorsque un épisode est lu sur un appareil, il sois marque comme lu sur l'autre appareil également.

Podcast takes a long time to start playing after hitting play
I usually hit play from the widget to resume a already downloaded podcast. Most times it takes 20-30 seconds for the podcast to start playing. After hitting play if I open the app it'll show the podcast that I'm listening to but the progress bar doesn't appear until the song finally starts playing. Been happening for months now.

I’m guessing you’re streaming your episode so it depends on the speed of your internet connection. If you play episodes that are already downloaded it will start playing right away.

Show which have been downloaded
On the Podcast menu i can see the total available ( even if my default dowbload is 5) and I can see if they're downloading or not, but not how many that have already been downloaded and how many read

allow video podcasts to be played as audio only (if desired)
what if you can't play the video due to an internal error or something, podcast addict skips it and goes to the next one in the playlist. by doing this you missed the video. there should be an option to play the audio of the video that has already been downloaded. The audio is much better than not podcast at all.
0 votesYou can already pkay video podcast in the background. Just make sure you disabled video foreground playback in settings/player. But in your case it won’t help you if the app fails to play the file. Please open a ticket with app version, android version, device, feed URL and episode name using the contact support button.

what if you just want to listen to a certain video podcast. or a show has audio and video episodes but you can't watch the video? podcast addict skips the video podcasts that can't be view. i suggest you let users opt to turn video podcasts to be played as audio.
0 votesYou can already do that. Just make sure you disabled video playback in foreground only in Settings/player then you can start playing video content and switch off your screen or do something else and the playback will remain on in the background.
