Optimize the internal player.
Other apps and games like temple run and subway surfers lag a lot when a podcast is playing but have no problem while using a external player. Using an external player is not reliable as it doesn't have the necessary options such as sleep timer, 30sec skip etc.
0 votesThe app uses your device build in player. If you enabled variable playback speed the app will use some CPU for the real time sound processing so other apps requiring a lot of CPU resources might lag. In that case you will have to disable the app audio effects

Bug, when overriding podcast category,if you press the x button to clear the text box, the text box disappears

Regarding the ‘issue’, this is the intended behavior. The X is supposed to remove the category, not clear the text content. You can then press the + button in the actionbar to add new categories

allow users to build additional playlists
I recently downloaded an audio book and I would like to listen to it using podcast addict. The problem, however, is that Pocast Addict doesn't allow multiple playlists.

Skip silence on videos
Would it be possible to skip silence on videos too?

0 votesOnly effects provided by Google can be applied to the video. For now it’s just playback spped. If they add more effects in future version then I will make them available in the app as well

Give an option to sort each show in a different way.
Some podcasts I'm listening to on a weekly basis, and I'm all caught up. For those I want to sort by "publication date (new->old)". That way newest rise to the top and playback sequence goes backwards in time.
Other podcasts I may be just starting, with years of serial progression or story telling to catch up on. For those I want to sort by "publication date (old->new). That way the first episodes rise to the top and playback sequence progresses as intended.
As it is right now, changing the sort option affects all shows at the same time. I'd love…

Cannot dismiss player notification once paused on Android Pie
Coming from Android Marshmallow, now on Android Pie I cannot dismiss the player notification (e.g., once paused) even if the app has been removed from Recents. I have to force closing the app to dismiss the player notification.

Don't download read episodes.
My download queue lists a lot of read episodes. I marked those before downloading because i streamed them or just am not interested in.
0 votesIf you select Download all, then the app will download every episode in the list.
You can first hide played episodes before triggering the download to avoid this -

The number of subscribers would be more useful if it was last year's subscribers instead of all-time subscribers.

Where did episode descriptions go?
"Post a review" had replaced the episode description. This is ruining an app If I can't see the episode description, I'll find a better app.
0 votesNothing has been removed. My guess is that your device Webview component crashed or received an update. Please follow the FAQs instructions and reboot the device when this happens

Am Rande: Warum läuft der Timer weiter (zählt runter), wenn das Abspielen eines Eintrags pausiert wird?

Auto-play in android auto
Android auto has a setting that allows the application to auto-start playing music/sound, at the moment PA actively ignores it.
It would be ideal if it followed the setting and auto-started playing if it's configured to do so.

For sorting by file name - use "intelligent" file numbering
When sorting by file name, use intelligent file numbering so that "file 2" will come before "file 10". That is the way most file managers are able to recognize the numeric portion of the file name. Currently it sorts the other way around ("file 10" will sort before "file 2")

playlists suck
So i have to create a custom category name and then EVERY podcast i have to add them into that category.. I do this so i can play every single podcast without ever needing to change categories (audio, video, custom).
JUST HAVE ONE PLAYLIST CATEGORY. that would solve the problem
we dont care to have a video section.this is a podcast player, just play all the podcasts.
stop hiding them in other categories and stopping when that 1 category is completedOr hell even just keep the player moving through the categories... why does it stop?
0 votesSorry but there's no plan to change how the playlist works. If you don't need extra playlists, then just use the default one which is the app default behavior and unless you open a different playlist to start playing from it, the app will keep using the content of the main default playlist.
Feel free to take a look at the FAQs which explains in details how the playlist works (Settings/FAQs)
The app will then keep playing without any interruption until the end of your playlist is reached
