Just a heads up regarding the latest version of the app. It doesn’t provide cross device syncing yet, but it allows you to sign in to your Google Drive account and have all your data automatically backed up to make sure they are safe at all time. It also makes restoring the data on a new device really easy.
You can go into Settings/Backup to enable this and sign-in
    Thanks

I hear that Google allows App Data sync with their servers. I would look into this as a possibility for data sync.

Use Google drive for sync. Google chrome uses it and it does a great job.

You could create your own information storage schema. This would allow you to store whatever you want (like pod casts that have already been listened to).

The only down side is that if the user does not have a Google account that it may not work.

A plus side is that if you make the schema like an XML then it would only take like 1kb to store your information. This is usually available on the user's profile.

    I personally would do this:
If you are only distributing the app on Google play then Google drive is a good idea. But if you are distributing it elsewhere then look into alternatives.

Or you can just support multiple services like MS one drive, Google Drive, Dropbox or logmein cubby.

Hope this may further your efforts on implementing this feature!

DLNA!!! I have a home entertainment system that has DLNA support. I could stream my podcast over the 5.1 surround system with this feature <3

Chromebook has the ability to run this app now as part of the Google project where you can run android apps on Chrome OS.
