start playing podcasts in the background
If the playlist is empty, I can start a new podcast in the background (without a modal "starting to play..." overlay) by clicking on "Add to playlist" instead of "Play". Why can't "Play" similarly start the podcast in the background instead of making the entire UI wait until the server status streaming data?

The app behave the same way when pressing play or add to playlist on an empty playlist except that pressing play opens the player screen. They both start playback using the same code -
have one playlist interface
There are currently two playlist interfaces: one available from the menu, and the other from the player. Why are there two, and why are they different?
1 voteYou can manage your playlist from the sliding menu ‘playlist’ entry. Then while listening to a podcast you can access it faster by just swiping right. In case you’re using the Continuous playback mode instead of the playlist, then the content of the play queue will differ than the content of your playlist and you can only see it from the player screen.

Support youtube playlist updates
There is already an old declined idea regarding this, but the problem exists:
If I subscribe to a youtube channel (using the "/playlist?list=" url), it retrieves all existing videos in that playlist. However, if I try to update it later on, it does not update the playlist even if there are new videos in it1 voteThis website is dedicated to new feature request.

Do not automatically display unsubscribed podcasts
Why when previewing an episode in a podcasts, it is automatically added to my view? I don't want to see the podcast in the view panel unless I've subscribed to it, please fix.
1 voteThis isn’t a bug. If you’re listening to a single episode of a podcast, it’s then added to the app main screen. Once the episode is deleted or fully listened to it will be removed from the screen

Track list and skip
Track listing and ability to skip through tracks on the podcast where available. This is a feature on iTunes and would be awesome to have it here. Other than that, awesome app

Provide for the option to easily back up all settings.
A great app, but it's also so customisable it can be frustrating to set up again.
Simply the ability to export and import settings would simplify this.

How do you stop the browser from automatically opening podcast addict?
If I visit a page with a podcast url in it the page won't load instead podcast addict is opened.

Regarding the issue this means that you selected Podcast Addict to be the default app to open those urls when Android asked you to select an app (only confirm with ALWAYS if you want to change the default app).
You can go into your device Settings/Apps/Podcast Addict and do a Clear default actions to fix this. -
Show file sizes of episodes in episode description.
Show in the podcast description how big the file size is so I can know how much data it will take to download it.

Show time remaining
Instead of showing just the time elapsed and the total time while listening, perhaps it could show the time elapsed and the time remaining.
3 votesThe app does this by default. If you see the total duration it means that you pressed on the player screen total duration. Do it once more to toggle the display to ‘remaining time’

Rewind 30 Seconds Button on Notification Controls
The forwarding control works wonders to skip ads and uninteresting bits, but adding a rewind control to quickly get to a previous time be just as helpful.

The format of Show notes are messing up
I am listener for various podcast. Some of them relies a lot on shownotes. However markup of shownotes are messing up (especially bulletpoints)

The app just displays the content provided in the RSS feeds you subscribed to. Display is managed by Android Webview component. Unfortunately there’s nothing I can do if the show noted are messed up.

Rewinding
While listening to streaming podcasts the podcasts will backtrack a few seconds and play the same content over again. It does this multiple times while listening to one podcast. I restarted my phone, and it is still having the same issue. I don't wish to reinstall the app..

Add the ability to mark a URL 'not RSS feed'
There is a website I frequent that happens to have a newsfeed under a /feed directory, but it is not a RSS feed.
Since installing Podcast Addict, I can't visit it anymore on my mobile, because Podcast Addict always opens instead.
Is it possible to implement a list of some sort where we could mark a URL for exclusion?
3 votesThe app doesn’t open anything automatically by default. However it will be displayed by Android in the list of apps able to process the url. If you select an app and press the ‘ALWAYS’ button, then the selected app will become the default app on your device for this kind of content. Make sure to select ‘ONCE’ if you only want to open this content with the selected app once.
You can reset those settings in the device Settings/Apps/Podcast Addict screen by clearing default actions -

It would be amazimg if there is an option that allows tô post comments on the episode directly from the Podcast Addict. As far as I know, it is only possible to view the comments that were postes on the episode's web page. The possibilita of making comments without getting to the episode's www would wonderful.

I used to just listen to my podcasts, and then hit the "next" button to get to the next episode of the same show. I can't figure out how to do this anymore, ever since the playlist feature was added. I don't want to create a whole playlist for it, I just want to listen to a specific show sequentially.

Sleep mode reverts progress to last shake
Say I set the sleep timer to 15 minutes and fall asleep after 10 minutes. When I resume the podcast the next day it should revert those 15 minutes and start the playback from the last time I shook the phone. The way it works now make it so you miss parts of the podcast during the time between increasing the sleep timer and falling asleep
3 votesNot his isn’t how it works. The app will play those 15 minutes before pausing unless you shake the device to ‘snooze’ right at the end

Lock screen artwork
I wish there was a way to hide artwork in the lock screen, so that every time I pull out my phone it won't have the artwork stretched on the whole lock screen.. And everyone around me shouldn't see what I'm listening to...
