  3. Communicate title via Bluetooth

    If an app provides title metadata via intent, then a car radio or any other display connected via bluetooth could display track title or even display a cover image (if both devices support this, this is since AVRCP 1.3)

  5. Add the ability to preview episodes before subscribing

    When looking for a podcast on a particular topic it is hard to know what it will be like without seeing the list of episodes. To view the episodes, however, the user has to subscribe to the podcast. The user then has to switch to their list of subscribed podcasts and find the relevant podcast before viewing the episodes. This is a lot of extra steps when instead the episodes could be previewed before subscribing which would help the user decide if they actually want to subscribe

    This feature has just been released in v3.16
    From the search results press on the podcast (or long press), the select ‘Episodes’, you will then have the list of the podcast episodes, from which you can stream/download without having to subscribe first

    BTW: I forgot to add this feature in the Discover podcasts screen, but it will be done later this week

    On podcast list add option to sort by count of unread podcast.

  7. Add support for Google Chromecast

    It would be awesome if Podcast Addict had support for playing content through Google's new Chromecast device. Google Cast API can be found at the link below:

  8. allow the user to change the order of podcasts in the subscriptions list.

    Currently, the newly added podcasts are put at the end of the list without the possibility to move them up or down.

  10. 'Always On' Sleep setting per podcast

    There are some podcasts I listen to only while sleeping. It would be useful to be able to enable a setting that would automatically trigger Sleep mode if you manually start playing an episode from that podcast. (I say manual to avoid perhaps issues with playlists)

    This is now available in the app

    The next version of the app allows you to enable the sleep timer automatically based on a time frame.
    That might be a workaround for what you’re asking for.
    For example, the sleep timer will enable itself when listening between 10pm and 5am.
    Let me know if that works for you so I can close this feature request (or not)

    Currently only grid mode is supported and there's no option to change it.

    Sorry about that, but it looks like the last apk has been corrupted while uploaded on the Play Store. I just pushed a new version to fix that issue. It should be live in an hour. Please take some time to update your review once the problem is fixed. Sorry about the mess

  15. Add a playlist order that will alternate between all the podcasts regardless of how old they are

    This is hard to explain in a title. I want to listen to all my podcasts in chronological order. However, because podcast 1 started in 2011, and podcast 2 starts in 2013, I'm stuck listing to podcast 1 in bulk for a long time.

    What would be great to have is a sort feature that would play the oldest (or newest, if you prefer that) episode of podcast 1, then the oldest of episode of podcast 2 (then oldest of podcast 3 or 4,etc). Once it's cycled through all the podcasts, it would then start on the second oldest of…

  16. Selecting to play an episode from within the podcast menu, should only play episodes of that podcast then stop.

    If I pick to play a podcast from within a specific podcast(select one podcast from the podcast menu) then only episodes from that podcast should play, then stop at the end of the downloaded episodes.

    Next version of the app will include a new playlist mode called ‘Automatic podcast playlist’ (at least for now).
    This mode will disable the current playlist and all the ‘add to playlist’ / ‘remove from playlist’ menus and buttons.
    When selected, this mode will work like this:

    Start playing an episode. The app will automatically build a playlist with all the unread episodes of the current podcast. If you press the play button on an episode from another podcast, the app will clear the current playlist and build a new one for the new podcast.

  17. Global Drag And Drop Priority List

    Instead of setting priorities with numbers in the individual podcast settings, have a priority list in the global settings where we can drag and drop podcasts higher or lower on the list.

    In order to use the current system, we have to remember the arbitrary number we've assigned to each podcast and then go into individual settings and change them all. A drag and drop list is easier and faster.

    Edit: Please update to the latest BETA: v3.10 build 569 and let me know what you think of the new Priority setting screen.
    You will also find this screen in Settings/Display/Podcasts

    I will improve the way to set the podcast priority in the next version, but because it makes sense to have multiple podcasts using the same priority I’m not sure a drag and drop list might be doable.
    I’ll let you know once the beta is available to get your feedback

  18. Portrait mode only switch in settings

    It would be great to have a "Portrait Mode" only switch in Settings.

    A lot of times when I'm using the app, it flips between portrait and landscape, which is frustrating. I know that I force portrait mode on a system wide basis but there are other apps that I want to use in landscape mode.

  19. automate thumbnail deletion

    I have just manually deleted hundreds of thumbnails at about 1 Mbyte each. The system must store every thumbnail when you scroll through a list e.g. I had every one from the BBC list. Found the manual thumbnail tidy up in settiñgs but would be better automated. Thanks

  20. Allow device to be locked (screen off) for video podcasts.

    Sometimes, we can´t be staring at the screen for video podcasts- when we´re driving for instance. So having your smartphone locked saves battery and avoids unwanted actions (stop, delete, etc)

    v2.3 will be available in the next hours

    They is a new setting to allow video playback to go on when the screen is turned off.
    It won’t be the default behaviour but you’re will be able to change it in Settings/Player/Screen Off
