  1. allow podcast downloads over mobile, but put in an option to limit it when roaming

    Similar to how Google photos app can be set to back up photos over cellular, unless the mobile is on a roaming network. My national data allowance is plenty for syncing podcasts, but I have experienced landing in a foreign country, turning in my mobile and discovering after passing immigration that I've spent $100s downloading podcasts.

  2. Subscribe to archive.org feeds

    More and more is becoming available on archive.org. New as well as old audio. Likely due to the low cost/free venue to get material out there. Is there a way to subscribe to users uploads? I don't understand the whole podcast/feed way of delivery, so maybe I'm missing something on trying to subscribe to a user's feed (it took me several weeks to figure out I needed to remove the m. < mobile address> from the soundcloud feed address LOL).

  4. Allow to filter by multiple categories

    I think the app is currently very close to perfect. So great job developers.

    One little thing that seems to be missing is the ability to filter by multiple categories. Since you allow to create as many categories as we want for each podcast, it would make sense for us to be able to also filter using as many categories as we want, or else the former function is not very useful.

    So for example if I have some podcasts which are in the category of Education and in the category of Arts at the same time, there is currently…

  6. It's be cool to send clips to friends

  7. Update on App Opening

    Currently the update options are (1) every 24hrs, or custom time period; or (2) when the phone turns on.

    Why not just when I open the app?
    (In which case, the notification would not be necessary).

  9. When podcast is finished, stay on that ep instead of going to blank page

    When a podcast finishes, the app basically goes to a blank page. This makes it hard to know the last pod you listened to (and delete it, or back it up and listen where you fell asleep, etc). Could we just stay on the podcast when it finishes?

  12. allow me to swipe away episodes I don't want to listen to.

    On the latest episode list, I would like to be able to swipe left or right to delete that episode as I don't intend to listen to it. It can be a little bit annoying to have to scroll through a bunch of episodes I don't want to listen to over andover again.

  15. per podcast volume adjustment

    A per-podcast volume adjustment would be handy. Some podcasts are very quite and require me to turn up the volume, others are very loud and require me to turn down the volume. It would be helpful (especially when listening at night when falling asleep) to have a more constant volume level between podcasts. Not asking for anything complicated like dynamic compression or normalization, just a manual slider on the custom podcast settings screen that is an adjustment to either the system volume or an adjustment to the digital levels (whichever is easier/better to implement).

  16. Have a network override option for individual podcasts

    Not just be able to force a particular episode to download over mobile data despite global settings being wifi-only, which would be great and I believe is being implemented.

    Rather, an override for a subscribed podcast: for example I may have some short podcasts that I don't mind downloading on a data plan, but also have some much larger podcasts that I would prefer to be downloaded only over wifi.

  17. It would be nice if you can add a "Watch later" button like on YouTube.

    Adding a tool to safe an episode in a list to watch vor listen to it later, because of you don't habe enough time to hear the Podcast or you are listening to another Podcast and found a intersting New one you want to hear later.
    (I don't mean the playlist, I thought about a (optional) list like the New episodes or the downloaded podcasts.)

  18. Add Delete and Next function to the widget + notification

    Long press deletion (Delete episode when long pressing on Player previous / next track buttons) is nice feature. Could you wrap that functionality in a single button that could be added onto the
    -player
    -widget
    -notification / lock screen widget?
    So, this button would simply delete currently played episode and play the next on the playlist.

  19. Add Support for UPnP

    This allows playing podcasts through a home audio system or PC via wifi. BubbleUPnP, for example, integrates well with other apps so might be a good example to follow.

  20. Add a work around for Android playback speed bug when bluetooth connects

    My phone will often switch to high speed playback when it connects to bluetooth speakers and podcast addict auto starts, I have to manually stop & restart the player to reset it to normal speed which can be very inconvenient when driving.

    I realise that this is an Android bug however I would like to suggest adding a workaround to the app so that it automatically stops and restarts the player when an auto start occurs or when it detects that the player is running at high speed.

    I am generally delighted with the app and have been using it…
