1. Sort By Recently Played Option In Each Sort Menu

   This is useful independent of the Playback history and Playback in progress. Those can't currently be filtered very well - that's another potential improvement that could fill the same purpose. (also, All and Downloaded episodes could use the same filters - the ones in the podcast episode lists.)

   Use cases:
   -Took a break from a show, not sure how long ago, and want to pick it up again.
   -can't remember the specific guest or a revelant search term, and it was an older episode that was listened recently.
   -I'm already in the podcast's episode list and have it filtered, and don't want to switch to Playback history and start scrolling, then come back.

   I realize unlistened episodes wouldn't have relevant data, and assume those nulls could just go to the bottom. Not sure about the reverse listing.

2. Allow selection of which Player view is used as the Opening Screen

   I have a premium subscription and I've set my Opening Screen to Player. However, the Player screen has 3 views:
   1. The playlist
   2. The current episode image and title
   3. The episode details

   Setting the Opening Screen to Player opens the app on view #2, but I'd like to open it on view #1.

3. Push Notification for Live Streams

   Add support for push notifications for live podcast stream using the Podcasting 2.0 tag <podcast:liveItem>. If the user turned on this toggle for a specific podcast, they'd receive a notification whenever the podcast stream went live and given the option to stream the show.

4. export, import, edit the listening history. CSV file maybe

   If we could export the listening history to a csv file, edit it (on a PC I guess) and import it again, that would be fantastic ! To keep it simple, export all the available information (per episode : time downloaded, time played, speed, comments, bookmarks, etc and let the user deal with it)

   For what case?
   What I have in mind is merging the listening histories of podcast addict of my old and my new phone. Because when I broke my old phone, i didn't realize my last PA backup was 3 months old and I listened to a lot of podcasts in the meantime... So on my new phone I often listen to 1 podcast I already listened to and stop it half way once I realize I did listen to it before.
   Also, the stats don't reflect the reality anymore as it is lacking 3 months out of 12.

5. to implement an anti-theft security function...

   ... to be used for example for the gym as follows:

   • The function can easily be activated manually on the same screen like the Sleep-Timer or automatically depending on a specific location or a specific WiFi.
   • If the function is enabled, the playback of a podcast or any other audio or video is stopped as soon as the device is moved (e.g. by a theft in the gym).

   I think, implementing this is easy (may be I can help?), The already existing function "Shake to reset (Sleep-Timer)" can be somehow used for the anti-theft security function.

6. Virtuelle Podcast kennzeichnen und eigene Regeln einstellen.

   Ich verwende gerne das Feature virtueller Podcast. Mir ist aufgefallen, das generelle Einstellungen auch für virtuelle Podcasts gelten. Es wäre gut, wenn man virtuelle Podcast kennzeichnen könnte mit einem kleinen icon. Außerdem wäre eine Einstellung gut, wo man z.b für virtuelle Podcasts andere Einstellungen zum Löschen von gehörten Episoden einstellen könnte. Z.b gelesene Episoden von virtuellen Podcasts nicht zu löschen.

8. Make "Manual" playlist sort a checkbox instead of a dropdown option

   Currently:

   In the playlist's "Order by ..." dialog, there's a checkbox for "Alternate podcasts" and then one or more dropdown menus to sort by various methods.

   The Part That Feels Like Awkward UI:

   All of the "Sort by" dropdown options are automatic sort methods, except one, the "Manual (Drag&Drop)" menu option. If you think about it, Manual (Drag&Drop) is really an alternative to automatic sorting. It's turning automatic sorting on or off. In fact if you select it, it does disable the subsequent dropdown menus. So it could make more UI sense to make it a checkbox at the top that enables or disables all 3 dropdowns.

   The Request:

   Move "Manual (Drag&Drop)" out of the dropdown; instead make it a checkbox.

   -> Critically, it should disable all 3 dropdown menus, and the dropdown menu state should be remembered so that users can toggle between manual mode and their preferred automatic mode.

   The Justification:

   Personally, 90% of the time I stay on an automatic sort: alternating podcasts sorted by podcast priority (high->low), then short publication date (Old->New), then duration (Min->Max). And then about 10% of the time I'm excited by a new podcast and want to drag it to the top of my list, so I switch to Manual mode and do that. And then when I want to switch back, it's 12 clicks and 3 scrolls to set it back to my preferred automatic sort. It's a UI pain point.

   I admit that this is a relatively trivial pain point, but I expect it's also a relatively trivial code change!

   • Longtime user of the paid version. :)

9. expand Pause between episodes options in playlist settings

   I would appreciate expanded options in the Pause between episodes setting, so I can set significantly longer pauses between episodes so I can have time to reflect on the previous episode I heard. An option to customize the amount of time instead of just having set choices (as it currently is) would be optimal.

11. Display Podcastfoldername on Infopage

    I have a podcast 'Wirt' that, annoyingly, renamed itself to 'Klima'. My habbit is to go with a file manager to the location where podcast addict stores the audio files and backup them prior deletion on the device. I know which podcasts I fully heard and thus it generally works nicely.

    That Wirt-Klima podcast just tricked me. There were plenty of already played episodes, but I could not find the name of the podcast in Podcast Addict (or the folder of the Podcast with the new name).

    I suggest on the podcast info page (click small i) to add underneath the location of the xml feed, the folder name the audio files go to. It does not need to be the long name with .../com.bambuna.podcastaddict/files/... in it, just the last folder name. The name the podcast originally started with.

    I believe the effort to implement this is small, please vote for this even if you don't need this feature.

12. Show URL Preview when Long Pressing Hyperlinks

    Currently when long pressing hyperlinks in episode descriptions a menu with the two options [Copy to clipboard] and [Share] opens.

    I suggest the addition of the link's URL (or at least its beginning) to the header of that menu. Similar behavior when long pressing links can be found in the Chrome browser.

    This feature would increase usability and security. When you currently want to check a link's destination before opening it, you have to copy it, go to your browser and insert it there. With the addition of the URL to the menu you could do a simple long press, peak at the URL and then open it directly from PodcastAddict.

    An action flow like this could be further improved by adding an [Open] button to the long press menu.

16. Add 'add to play list" as an option to quick actions in display settings

    The current options are 'download' and 'play' though my most common action is to 'add to playlist'. It would be especially helpful if the playlist is empty at the time it would function as a 'play'button.

    Permit override of global "Update (via) Wi-Fi only" so a podcast or RSS feed may be updated via mobile data - either on demand, or set per podcast.
    This would allow individual podcasts to update (even download) when synced via mobile data.

19. Rewrite clickable timestamps to reflect playback speed

    When displaying the episode time modified by playback speed, it would often be useful to see the timestamps in the episode description adjust similarly. That would make it easier to refer to where you are in am episode, when looking at outline or transcript with timestamps.
