1. Add apability to show only the number of unread podcast

   In the main screen, allow that the number of outcasts being shown can be either all the episodes or only all those unread.

2. Add an option

   To set the maximum number of unread episodes globally. For example, I'd like tell the app to mark all episodes older than say 1 month as read for all subscribed to podcasts.This would eliminate a lot of clutter and be handy when subscribing to new podcasts. Or, like me, when first starting to use your app. Then, if I want to see older shows, I would just need to click the eye icon to show all episodes. Make sense?

3. Be more selective about features requests

   Hi,

   I already posted a 4/5 comment on Google Play, and I want to share my opinion on your app :

   It seems that, since a few months, a few features have been added (from user requests, I guess), and sometimes it feels a little weird :

   • Categories could be a nice idea, but I want to keep a clean and simple home screen.
     Removing every categories in the options didn't help.
     The app still displays a useless spinner with two identical items ("all categories" & "no categories").

   • I don't need playlists. And even if I don't, I can sometimes see an automatic playlist created against my will.
     When I leave a podcast to launch another one, the previous one is resumed at the end...
     It seems to be a nice touch, on the first sight, but if I felt asleep during a listening, twice, and it makes me lose every timestamp on every paused podcast.
     Worse, the second time, it made me lose a lot of downloaded episodes with the "auto-delete at the end" option.

   • On the last update, you triggered a popup on every screen.
     Even if it cames with good intentions, seeing 5 popups in 15 seconds is quite intrusive, and the 2 last ones cannot be well received.
     It's nice of you, but kind of clumsy.

   • Since the v2, you added an "options" button in the action bar, a side-menu, and additionnal buttons on the bottom of your side-menu that offers pretty much the same functionnalities that the still-accessible actionbar...
     It seems that it could be simplified.

   • With the v2, it is sometimes impossible to relaunch the player with the notification.
     The player notification is displayed, and clicking on the play button makes it dissapearing.
     This is a commonly reproductible bug in the new versions that I never saw last year.

   My goal is not to prevent you to do anymore development, but I want to warm you about a problem in many growing apps :

   It's way more easy to build a massive labyrintic system full of unknown features than building a simple app that does just what you need.

   and I want to make you consider that sometimes better is the enemy of good.

   But let me get this clear : I don't want to be disrespectful about your work, actually.
   I love what you did, and I even bought the premium package (which is something that I don't do easily, actually)
   I just was kind of annoyed by some of the new features that doesn't seems indispensable to me, and by the bugs that came along.

5. InterOperability BT Sound Commands Smartwatch and Drive Car

   Hi,

   A) Installation of the App makes my BT smartwatch (Sony, version1) instead of commands play/previous/next default MP3 player app, commands podcastaddict app. and even Play command launched automatically the app (as default MP3 normally). So it was just an exchange of default app or something easy i guess. So this was the status a few months ago.

   B) Since one/two months, updating your app, makes now my Drive Car (BT) does not command anymore my MP3 default player, i cannot use any remote command (play/previous/next) from Drive Car. As a workaround, i could use the commands on my mobile (but indeed more dangerous).

   C) Last, updating the app tonight, i checked for smartwatch, the behavior is more complex:
   - Automatic launch of player is desactivated (podcast addict), but default MP3 player also.
   - When default MP3 player is open (mobile GUI), the smartwatch commands cannot control the player, none command (play/pause/previous/next) is working. Only the Volume (+/-) is working, as always til now, and the display of the playing song. I did not test car tonight.

   Last info (but independent): if another player is open on the mobile (default video player or other like Mx player), the smartwatch commands described here are applied to the app normally, i.e. w/o podcast addict app installed.

   I guess you tried to correct a bug reported by somebody else, and doing so, you are deactivating BT commands since B).

   Can you try to fix the whole, please? I think you have the knowledge to do easily a smartwatch podcast app. Sony, as you already influenced BT commands ;) it maybe a next step or idea ^^

6. allow enqueue/download all new from a specific podcast/category.

   I don't mark read the episodes that I didn't download so when I refresh, they hang around and I can't run 'download unread' or else I'll get the old episodes I wasn't interested in.

11. Change the 'play icon'(triangle) left to the add/remove from playlist to another one

    I always found confusing when pressing the play button (left to the add/remove from playlist), because it never changed from “play icon” to “pause icon”.
    I realized that this confusion could be cleared if you changed this“play icon” to another icon with the meaning of 'start playing another podcast'

13. have an option to auto open or play the podcast file

    If you download an eBook podcast like from an RSS stream and want to use PA to do it, currently you push the play button and it opens the eBook app like Google Play Books. What would be nice is if you could choose on a per podcast basis when a new file is downloaded it automatically starts playing so the other app can auto add it to the library when you open it.

14. sleep option

    on sleep to automatically switch off all network connections - goto airline safe mode. Could you add such a setting in your sleep timer?

16. Show a "No data" hint if displayed list is empty

    If no episodes are displayed, the screen below the header is completly empty. It would be great if at least a Text message indicates that there is nothing to display. This will clear upcoming confusions.

17. remove podcasts / Raw Reading of podcasts / Totally lock the phone / Bluetooth for car radio

    First of all I tried to post this post on the "FAQ Podcast addict section" and I had a 404 Error with both IE and Firefox. That was my message originally written in French whic i could translate if you need :

    Je suis utilisateur de podcast addict depuis quelques années. J'écoute des podcasts soit sur mon Ipod soit sur mon téléphone et j'ai plusieurs suggestions à vous faire :
    1 - Supprimer les ‘episode descriptions’ (cf votre réponse du 23/10/2013 à 16:11) en même temps que les fichiers. Pour ma part la solution de masquer les épisodes lus ne me convient pas et je trouve que ça surcharge l'interface (on pourrait même inverser l'ordre d'affichage pour avoir les plus récent en premier sans avoir besoin de scroller).
    2 - Avoir la possibilité d'enchaîner automatiquement les lectures de podcasts : Je m'explique, il existe des émissions intéressantes de seulement quelques minutes que l'on peut écouter d'un coup en chaîne (par ex : la scandaleuse histoire du rocks) ou des émissions en plusieurs parties (ie les Grandes Gueules) et il est pénible de devoir manipuler le téléphone en permanence.
    3 - Bloquer toutes les touches quand le téléphone est bloqué : Je bricole souvent avec un casque bluetooth, mon téléphone dans la poche et en écoutant mes podcasts préférés. Tout se passe très bien jusqu'à ce que je prenne des positions scabreuses comme me mettre à genou ou tout simplement manipuler ma tondeuse : là dans les meilleurs cas, le son bouge seul et dans le pire des cas, le podcast change. J'aimerais fixer ma lecture une bonne fois pour toutes surtout dans la mesure où je peux piloter l'appli depuis mon casque (et ça ça marche bien).
    4 - Faire fonctionner le bluetooth sur mon autoradio : Le bluetooth fonctionne très bien avec mon casque mais ne veut pas fonctionner avec mon autoradio. Vous n'êtes pas la seule appli dans ce cas (je suis obligé de dévalider le bluetooth si je veux avoir du son avec mon avertisseur de radar) mais ce serait mieux si ça fonctionnait. Le bluetooth fonctionne parfaitement pour la partie téléphonie.

    Mon mail est un peu long mais ça faisait longtemps que je voulais l'écrire. Je vous remercie pour cette appli qui fonctionne très bien et qui remplit beaucoup de mes critères. Je vous remercie par avance de prendre en compte mes doléances pour mon confort personnel mais surtout pour la communauté.

20. Pre volume setting (similar to the MAVEN music player app)

    It would enable volume levels
    - louder than the maximum android setting with a "pre volume" set to high
    - softer than the minimum android setting with a "pre volume" set to low

    I know that the first point has already been requested. What I am really interested in is the second point.
    I usually listen to podcast at work, in a very quiet environment where the minimum volume setting is still too loud. I guess there is an impedance matching problem with my headphones which could be solved by buying new ones, but I would like a software solution.
