  1. Automatic download of playlist

    I would like to have a setting that allowed me to automatically download the current and at most X number of items in the Playlist.

    That way I could add episodes to the Playlist and always now I have at least the next X items offline. And as soon as a episode is finished and marked as played it will be deleted and a new one in the list will be downloaded.

    I don't listen to all episodes of all podcasts so automatically download them is of no interest and I would like to limit the storage used so I…

  2. Group selected feeds at to of list in the "Manage the categories" screen

    When editing an existing category, it would be great to have all the feeds already checked to be grouped at the top of the add podcast screen to quickly identify mis-categorized feeds. Or it could be an option to hide selected/unselected.

  3. A way to restart playlist anytime a podcasts are updated/downloaded if player is off or paused

  4. Small changes to sleep timer

    I would love it if the sleep timer would always reset due to motion not just during the last bit before it shuts off.
    And would it be possible for the same thing to happen when the screen is turned on. This way it effectively starts the sleep timer when I turn off my screen. Because it's just kind of odd if your podcast start turning off when your clearly awake and using your phone.

  5. Retain "Donate" button even after donation

    I have already donated to PC Addict and removed the ad banner, but I don't want to go to a third party website to donate more money. Provide a donate button in the version of the app permanently, so that I can donate whenever I feel like it. Also, I get google play credits and gift cards, so my google account always has a credit. I want to donate that to worthy apps like yours instead of being forced to buy useless apps just to make sure the credits don't expire worthless.

  6. Download filter

    I suggest to implement a download filter that allows to download episodes matching certain criteria as soon as they are published.

    As an example I'll point to the NPR politics podcast. They have a number of episodes released per week but only once a week they publish "Weekly Roundup: [DATE]".

    It would be awesome to have this weekly round download automatically and download the other episodes manually based on interest.

  7. Change global playback speed from player

    I often need to change playback speed but I don't usually like per-subscription speed. I'd prefer if the player speed setting could be global, do I don't have to dig through menus

  8. Create an auto save.

    This would be very helpful for parents who have children that accidentally uninstall the app and all your podcasts and settings get lost.

  9. LIFO last in, first out

    As part of the max episodes to keep and automatic cleanup, I'd like to option to have newer episodes bump it older ones... Then, if room opens up within the max downloaded count, for it to re download older episodes starting with the most recently published. In this way, I'm always listening to the most recent episodes (Moody newsworthy based on their recency), but not be without content if I've listened to the most recent x number of episodes... So this would need to ignore or be an option to the "cleanup episodes older than" setting.

    I listen to some podcasts with a higher speed. It is very boring to have the music part of it with the non regular speed.

  11. Favorites Exempted when you Override Automatic Cleanup?

    I want to "override Automatic Cleanup" settings on many of my podcasts, but the option to "Keep favorite episodes" only exists on the global Automatic Cleanup settings. Can you add this feature to the individual podcast cleanup settings or just clarify if it already respects the global setting?

  12. Reduce the playlist area that begins play to make scrolling easier

    I'd like the majority of the playlist area to not be sensitive to a tap to begin play. When I'm editing my playlist PA often mistakes my touch to scroll or drag for a tap to start play. I've tried to be careful but inevitably when trying to swipe, my finger will some times land a little too firmly and it will be interpreted as a tap. Perhaps a specific play/pause icon could be added where the pause one is currently. Or, if the real estate is too valuable, put the play on the long press menu. Initiating play from…

  13. Display played podcasts... (eye-button)

    So there will be 3 option on the eye-button:
    - Hide played podcasts...
    - Display played podcasts... (this is required new feature)
    - Display every podcast...

    It's much easier to find the exact (already played) podcast when
    having a list of just played podcasts only, hiding tons of unseen podcasts which are out of interest.

  14. Lock "alternate podcasts" while playing

    Maybe that's not the best title.

    I have automatic limited downloads that add to the playlist. The dynamic sort is Publication (old to new) then priority (low to high) Alternate podcasts is turned on.

    While listening, when an episode finishes downloading, the playlist re-sorts. This causes 2 podcasts to alternate, the rest don't get played.

    Initial:

    Podcast A: episode 1 <-- now playing
    Podcast B: episode 1
    Podcast C: episode 1
    Podcast D: episode 1

  16. Shorten the skip silence trigger duration so that even short pauses are removed. (Or make it user adjustable)

    Decrease the length threshold for skipping silence or make it user adjustable so that shorter pauses will be removed.

  17. Improve the themes/UI

    Please consider cleaning up the UI. Or at least give the option to hide UI elements. Your app might just be the very best regarding functionality but it doesn't look all that great in my opinion. It is very busy to look at.

    For example the refresh button could be replaced with pull-to-refresh as an option.

    Let me remove it the indicator for video or audio episodes. I don't do video podcasts (Does anyone??). The same is true for the playlist. Let's please hide the video feed.

  18. Allow media browsing over bluetooth

    Hi, my car supports both Android Auto and AVRCP. Browsing AA works fine, but I can't see PA in my AVRCP application list. It looks Android advertises it to both AA and AVRCP over MediaBrowserService, but for some reason Podcast Addict doesn't appear. Is it possible to add support for this?

    It sounds like a lot of people filter MediaBrowserServiceCompat.onGetRoot which would likely break this from working. My phone is a Pixel 3 running Pie. Thanks!

  19. Download and keep set date of podcasts

    Enable the user to specify the date range for any given feed. Example :set download to only download and keep podcasts that are X days or weeks old from the current date.

    The setting to set the # to be downloaded and unplayed, will download podcasts many months old just to keep that # active in the que. One must then mark them as read, update the feed, then delete the old ones again.

  20. Exoplayer integration

    Using Exoplayer as the internal play for Podcast Addict would fix some issues I have with HLS streams (that I use for Radio Stations).

    One example is that Podcast Addict does not honour the EXT-X-START:TIME-OFFSET tag in HLS level event playlist. I'm sure there may be others.

    Exoplayer is open source and could be integrated into Podcast Addict as another optional media player
