It is already possible to mark already listened-to episodes with a green checkmark. How about also being able to mark episodes that you don't want to hear with another checkmark? For example, you could label them „Skipped“ or „Omitted“ and mark them with an orange checkmark. These skipped episodes could then be hidden from the list.2 votes -

Downloading episodes pausing when you run out of space
If the download que gets stopped for lack of space, can it automatically pause downloads instead of marking everything as an error?
I know I'm not a normal user, but I have an ordered que of literally 1500+ episodes right now, and I typically download 25 at a time to prevent having to manually reque the entire list, but I often get distracted, my phone doesn't send a notification until it is already too late with a failed to download x message, I loudly swear, and proceed to pause it, scroll all the way to the episode I need to…

When PAUSEd, add option to PLAY when NEXT TRACK button is pressed
After connecting to car bluetooth, I would like Podcast Addict to reconnect, pause, and wait for me to press the NEXT TRACK button before beginning to PLAY.
Equivalently, an option such that any time the player is PAUSED, the NEXT TRACK button causes it to PLAY would also work.
For whatever reason, my car's PLAY button does not cause the app to play so this provides a convenient and intuitive workaround.3 votes -
Bookmark Export - include an URL for each bookmark
Currently the file only contains the episode URL. It would be helpful to include an URL for each bookmark, so that when clicking it will start playing on the bookmark ("Position" field) instead of the beginning of the episode.
It could be similar to what Youtube does by appending e.g. "t=137" parameter in the query string of the URL.
8 votesThat's a good idea. The app will provide 2 urls for every bookmark. A first url based on the episode url with a new parameter to pass the position, but depending on the source that might not work. The app will also pass Podcast Addict episode url with the playback position in which case it should always work fine

Determine "short notification" based on the length of the interruption
Sometimes apps take audio focus for a long time but still count it as temporary audio focus, such as a 1-hour WhatsApp call. Since I have the pause / resume setting for short notifications, this makes PA resume after the call, which I don't want.
I suggest an option to interpret audio focus loss based on the actual length of the pause, as opposed to what the interrupting app classified it as. For example:
* For interruptions less than 10 seconds, treat it as a short notification for all purposes
* For interruptions from 10 seconds to 5 minutes, resume…3 votes -

It would be great idea to add "Material You design" would not only bring a fresh look to the app, but also enhance the user experience by allowing them to customize the appearance to their liking. I believe this feature would be well received by the users and differentiate your app from others in the market.

Not to delete past listening statistics if you unsubscribe from a podcast. Or at least the option to keep them.

Podcast addict can play when do not disturb is turned on
Currently when do not disturb is turned on podcast addict is not able to play. Android allows exceptions for apps that you manually choose. It will be helpful if podcast addict could play when do not disturb is turned on.

Streaming and downolad while roaming
hi, I often travel abroad. I have unlimited data at home, but not abroad. Would it be possible to add an option so that nothing is downloaded while roaming, even if I have data downloads set? Thanks

Delete at sync
It would be nice if there was an option to allow podcast deletions to only occur at the "Automatic refresh" scheduled time.
I want to enable both "delete when marked as played manually" and "delete once fully listened to", but I don't like that they happen immediately upon those events.
An episode may accidentally get marked completed, or I may want to go back and listen to or reference something again after finishing.
Having that grace period between those setting events and the next sync prevents the need to stream or download it again.
I could see many people wanting…

New episodes to top of playlist
Add an option for custom settings on a specific podcast to add new downloaded episodes to the top of the playlist (to play after the currently playing podcast).
Useful for news podcasts for example, to listen to the new episode each day without having to reorder the playlist each day13 votes -
Have a backup Skip Outro setting
I really appreciate the Skip Outro only if fast-forward pressed option fast was added in 2020.17. But, there are occasions when I can't fast-forward and a podcast has a long but variable outro length.
For example, I want to have it always skip the last 90 seconds, but should also skip to the next episode if I fast-forward any time in the last 3 minutes.

Some titles have single double quotes or commas. For those of us who use other apps to play files, saving a filename with title with these characters creates parsing errors in other programs. Thus we need an option to remove these characters. Thanks.

"Automatic Download" category or smart label on Podcasts screen
On the main Podcasts screen, there is a dropdown to show Podcasts by category, which defaults to "All categories"
I think it would be useful to select "Automatically downloaded podcasts" in the categories dropdown. It would show a smart category made up of all podcasts which have automatic downloads enabled.
This way you could see them all at a glance, and manage them more effectively.
Also when you are subscribed to many podcasts, this would allow you to browse just the podcasts you automatically download.
