  1. Get old episodes of a podcast

    I've seen you've rejected this idea before, but it's a must for me. Let me explain.

    You say that you show all the episodes provided by the RSS. And it's true. This is the most popular spanish podcast:

    http://www.cadenaser.com/rssaudio/milenium.html

    It only shows 11 items (and that's what PA shows). But if you go to iVoox and look for the same podcast, it says that there are 885 audios, and you can browse (and listen) all of them.

    The WordPress RSS, for example, allow to add a parameter to the RSS URL (?paged=2) to browse older items.

    Sorry but Podcast apps can only show the content provided by the RSS feeds you subscribed to.

    This content is managed by the podcasters.
    If they use RSS standards to give access to archives, then you will get all the older episodes as Podcast Addict supports feed pagination.

    However keeping a cache of older content not in the RSS feed is NOT legal without a signed authorization from the authors, which is of course not possibles with millions of podcasts available.

    Any app that is currently doing this is violating the terms of services and doing this without the approval of the podcasters…

  2. Add an option to pause playback when on vibrate and a call is received.

    When I receive a call while my phone is on vibrate, playback won't pause as there is no request for audio focus. Can an option be added to pause the podcast when a call is received even when on vibrate and there is no audio focus request to prevent missed calls?

    Wha you’re describing is a system bug or a phone app bug.
    The app can only pause when another app asks for audio focus. There’s no such thing as being notified if the device vibrate.
    Sorry I cannot be of more help with this

  3. Google account sync

    I would like to suggest to sync all data (list of podcasts, etc...) In a Google account in cloud. It's much better than maintain this data locally in the cell phone and in case of cell phone change it will be much easier to re install the app and all data

    Please use the app signin feature for this. The app uses your Google Drive account and store all your data in it. That way if you login on a new device it will automatically restore your data. However there’s no cross device syncing with this

  4. Only keep X most recent episodes downloaded / Delete least recent, downloaded episode

    The app should have the option to automatically delete the least recent episode currently downloaded to make room for new episodes as they become available when the user has defined a maximum number of episodes to keep downloaded.

    Current behaviour when using automatic downloads of episodes in Archive mode, used in conjunction with the "Keep at most" setting in Automatic cleanup, results in new episodes to not be downloaded if the user defined limit of episodes to keep is already reached. If the user then manually downloads the latest episode a seemingly random downloaded episode from the podcast is deleted…

    Please disable the archive mode. Then the app will download new episodes as they are published up to X episodes. After that every time a new episode is published the app will delete the oldest downloaded one before downloading the new episode

    Hello, I just downloaded the app and am LOVING IT! Congratulations. It would be much appreciated if the podcasts from rtp.pt/antena1/podcasts would be added as well. Thank you!

  6. checkbox to turn off automatic changelog display when player is updated (or just hide until phone is not moving).

    When I use PA I'm primarily in my car. I don't tend to listen to podcasts outside of my car. While I love the app and have purchased the pro version, I don't want to see the change log, especially if I'm trying to listen to my podcasts in a moving car, and the change log's "ok" button is preventing my podcast from playing.

    I know I can go read the change log in the settings menu, I prefer it to be that way, at least for the pro version since I've paid you for it. I appreciate you fixing…

  8. Option to delete skipped episodes

    The player has an option to long press the next button to delete an episode. That works only if you're inside the app. I suggest to add an option to delete skipped episode as it would be useful when using skip buttons on headphones or smartphones running cyanogenmod.

  9. Add option to keep it from running continuously when not in use

    This app runs continuously no matter how many times a user "force stops" it in the Apps menu in Settings. For those of us who do not need/want automatic updates/notifications, that is unacceptable.

    Once you’re done listening to an episode you can press on the player notification ‘x’ button to close the player. After that there’s no more code running

  10. Add Last.fm Support

    I would like to see the app support the last.fm api
    I have yet to find an podcast app that supports it and its something I have been looking for in a podcast app but have yet to find.

  11. Display folder structure for local audio files

    I have many audiobook folders under my 'audio' folder, each containing filenames like 01-AudioTrack 01.mp3.

    The problem is that Podcast Addict collapses them all into one long list making it impossible to play the files from a single audiobook.

    When you create a virtual podcast, and select a main folder containing difefrent audiobooks in their own sub folders, the app automatically asks you if you want to create a unique podcast in the app or one for each subfolder.

    This feature was temporarily disabled for the past few months as Google restricted app access to the files, but I just found a workaround and this feature is back in the upcoming v2020.5 version

  13. Please add a fast forward button to the widget and notification shade

    This will make it much easier to use the app with headphones or bluetooth that don't have a built in fast forward button.

  16. App Drawer Episode Playback Progress % / bar, Time Left, Episode Release date in Notification area

    Thank you for the great player!

    Would it be possible to add to App Drawer Notification Area line following info:
    Episode Playback Progress %
    Bar line,
    h:mm Left to episode playback end
    Episode Release date

    Some audiobook players have it - like Listen Audiobook Player and Smart Audiobook Player - they also use taller notification line for more space, and it's 1st priority, so used to have this info in Notification list pulldown.

    I already have it in "Expandable Notification" - but info above is still not present.

    The app allows you to sign in so your data can be automatically saved to the cloud. Then you can sign in again when you factory reset or replace your phone and all your data will be restored. Feel free to send me an email if you have any question (Settings/Feedback)

    Once you’re donae listening to an episode you can press on the player notification ‘x’ button to close the player. After that there’s no more code running. Feel free to contact me if you have any question (Settings/Feedback)

  19. Xavier, please make a radio app. We're stuck with the crappy ones that already exist

    A radio app as intuitive, simple and functional as PA doesn't exist. Tunein has become a Rube Goldberg machine unable to manage its favorites. Radio.fr is fine but lack functionalities and the UI is outdated
    A PA-like radio app would be at least equally successful I think.

    L'usine à gaz qu'est devenu Tunein et l'absence d'une vrai concurrence me fait panser qu'une app radio à la PA serait une parfaite alternative.

  20. offset the end by custom number seconds per feed/ skip outro

    The way we can offset the beginning of podcast, can wet also do that for the end per feed so that we can miss outro please.
