  1. Settings presets instead of overriding settings for each podcast individually

    I have two main types of podcasts I am listening too.

    1. Story based podcasts This type of Podcast tells a story over multiple episodes. The content often isn't related to the current events but can be listened years after publication. The episodes build on one another. An example would be 'Serial'. The listening order should be the order of publication. For this kind I override the settings like this:

    Automatic download: yes
    Archive mode: yes
    Download older first: yes
    Automatic playlist: yes
    Delete: no

    I'm doing some testing to check if I can implement this audio efect. However in order to test this I would need some sample files whith different audio levels between them or even within. Can you please send me an email with either link to some episodes (Settings/Feedback/Send email)?

  3. Implement audio transmission to receiver devices (Airplay-like)

    Allow PodcastAddict to connect to audio servers.
    Even if AirPlay(R) isn't an option (XBMC does it by the way),
    there are alternatives, e.g. I run a shairport4w service on my windows machine and DLNA compatibility is everywhere nowadays

  4. add a volume function within the app that controls the volume that the podcast plays independent of the volume of the rest of the device.

    I like to listen to music while learning a new language using another application called duolingo. The language learning app has a teacher that speaks random sentences so it would be nice to turn down the volume of the podcast while maintaining the volume of my other app

  5. Add Support for UPnP

    This allows playing podcasts through a home audio system or PC via wifi. BubbleUPnP, for example, integrates well with other apps so might be a good example to follow.

  6. Add in the playlist quickbutton

    Hello,

    In one of the last updates, there's a new quickbutton to play and download episodes.
    Since I'm actively using the playlist, could you add an option to replace the "Play" button by "Add in the playlist" instead?

  7. Find (for deleting) duplicate episodes within a podcast by calculating its file hash

    a sadly common use case:

    Podcast owner changes episode titles and (accidentally) republishes them with a new RSS GUID tag. This results in the episode duplicating in PA as PA has no way to detect duplicates if the RSS GUID is different.

    solution:

    Offer a way to activate a more advanced filtering option per podcast that calculates each episodes file hash and then compares the episodes by hashes. Since this is cpu intensive, it should only be triggered manually via a menu option.

    When marking episodes for deletion PA should pick the one not listened to OR prefer those published…

  10. Clip sharing

    I would love to share small Clips, similar to the function how it's implemented in Overcast.

    When I listen to long podcasts I often have parts of it, which are relevant for another person.
    So I want to share a small part, cut in Podcast Addict and send as MP3.
    The workflow would be easy and it would bring so much added value.

  11. Create a reset to default settings option without having to reinstall

    I apologize if this has been stated before but I have look all throughout the app and cannot for the life of me see an option to reset everything to default. I would be very convenience to have since some like to change things around but may not remember the changes later on if there is a change in heart for the person.

  12. Export more detailed listening statistics

    I like the listening statistics feature, but I often want to know more about my habits, more explicitly, and to be able to work with that data a bit.
    Being able to track/download events such as time of playback, time of stopping, episode timestamp of start/stop, sleep timer timeout, or sleep timer interrupted, would be really interesting for me.
    I write scripts that graoh and analyse my behaviour from exported data from mood tracker apps/my exported calendar, and often podcast addict is a good indicator of when i actually slept, or how I was feeling during my commute to/from work.

  13. Automatically mark episodes older than ... as played

    I'm subscribed to serveral "News" Podcasts, some of them updating their feed every hour.

    I'm not interested in hourly news from 12 hours ago and they clutter the "unplayed episodes" list, a per-podcast setting to automatically either "Mark all but the latest episode as played" or "Mark episodes older than n hours/days/month as played" would be very convenient.

  15. Dismiss podcast suggestions

    A feature to dismiss podcast suggestions that I'm not interested in so they don't show in suggestions anymore. No point in seeing the same suggestions all the time.

  16. NewPipe

    Youtube's ToS do not allow to download their content directly under the threat of a ban. However there could be a workaround. There's an excellent app out there called the NewPipe. It allows to download the YT videos (and even the extracted audio) through the "Share" button on YT itself. My request is to integrate the option to "Share" the YT videos in RSS subscriptions of PA to NewPipe if such app is present on one's device.

  17. Have a network override option for individual podcasts

    Not just be able to force a particular episode to download over mobile data despite global settings being wifi-only, which would be great and I believe is being implemented.

    Rather, an override for a subscribed podcast: for example I may have some short podcasts that I don't mind downloading on a data plan, but also have some much larger podcasts that I would prefer to be downloaded only over wifi.

  18. Make it export playlist

    I would like to be able to export my playlist to a simple text file. Then I could reorder it quickly on a PC, then import it back in to the app. I currently have hundreds of different podcast episodes in my playlist, and manually mixing and ordering them is time-consuming.

  19. Download sorting

    Currently, when podcasts get added to the download queue, they are added as soon as the podcast is updated. There is no way to automatically sort the download. It would be cool if we could sort download queue based on file size, duration, publication date, or especially podcast priority. This would put the less important podcast episodes as last to be downloaded.

  20. Remap the physical buttons on the side of device when the screen is off.

    When driving, I would like to skip commercials, or rewind to hear something I missed. I would be great if the physical volume buttons could be remapped to another function when the screen is off, so I can keep my eyes on the road. Also useful when player is in my pocket.
